Cartier launched its line of Roadster watches in 2001. This was nearly 100 years after the launch of its very first watch design – the Santos-Dumont line. The Roadster line’s design is inspired by automotive design. Cartier took inspiration from the classic 1950s Porsche 356 when creating its signature Roadster watches.
