Rolex 1975 Submariner, Red Writing

Rolex Submariner Ref. 1680 'Red Line' - named as such due to the red 'Submariner’ text on the dial which was only produced for a few years before being replaced by the white text found on later 1680 models.

The 1680 is the first Submariner to feature a date function, all previous models were ‘time only’ models which made the 1680 especially unique and sought after at the time of its release and even more so today.

This piece is in amazing condition dated back to circa 1969. It features a ‘Feet-First’ Mark V Dial which features the depth rating in feet first and metres second. The Lume plots and hands have developed a beautiful yellow patina which adds character to the watch.

This example features a period correct mark III Bezel (original blue bezel included) and also the correct 9315 oyster bracelet with folded links and correct 380 end-links. The bracelet is in excellent condition with very little wear.
